HistoryDesmarais & Gagné is a family owned company created in 1979 by brothers Yves and Yvan Desmarais, and supported by their cousin Serge Gagné and their mother Gisèle Desmarais.In its early beginning, the company’s main activity was manual welding and its premises was the family garage in Roxton Pond, close to Granby QC. The two brothers quickly built a solid reputation based on their integrity as well as on the quality of their work. Being visionaries, the company owners invested in tooling and equipment necessary for the automation of its tasks and to better fulfill an order book continuously increasing in number and complexity. The owners have also maintained a continuous lookout for new technology and have adhered to the highest quality standards in the industry. That is why the company has gained accreditation for ISO and ACNOR CSA W.47 division 2.1 In 1996, Desmarais & Gagné started a new page in its history and made a giant leap forward by acquiring a 60,000 square feet building in Granby’s industrial park. A few years later, aware of the possibilities offered by this new building and confronted with an ever increasing order volume, the company directors decided to proceed with major investments in its equipments. An amount of 1,5 million dollars was then invested in highly sophisticated equipment for the transformation of sheet metal. These acquisitions combined to the collaboration with many partners from other industries allowed the company to become a « one stop shopping » by being able to fulfill complex orders from the initial stage of product design, all the way to its final production and packaging. These investments proved to be judicious by allowing the company to obtain many contracts in the aviation industry as well as in other industries in need of high precision for the mass production of their parts. The availability of this very sophisticated equipment along with its highly qualified workforce also allowed Desmarais & Gagné to create another division under the name of DreamAircraft for the creation of their own product in the aviation industry; a kit plane called the TUNDRA.
